OpenThinker… in a Nutshell

Oh hey, glad you came by, I’m Pam, and OpenThinker. OpenThinker could be a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me, it’s about being open to new ideas, new experiences and being open minded. Sometimes, things are straightforward, right, or wrong, but in life there are many times that things fall into that gray area. We, as humans, are shaped by our own life experiences and perspectives. Being an openthinker requires being cognizant that other people have valid perspectives.  Embracing the perspective of another requires being an OpenThinker.

It’s a big world. Embrace it. I do that by learning and traveling and taking photos… lots of photos. I share my travels and my photos, and give a few recommendations here and there.

I’ve been creating learning experiences for nearly ten years. Before that, I was a teacher. I taught language arts and history. When I was teaching I was always trying to get the “aha,” moment where a student has a relevation or makes the relevent connection. Learning needs to be relevent, engaging, and sometimes, streamlined. Working in education requires OpenThinkers, those willing to be open to new ideas and to look at learning from every angle.

I have always been facinated with how things work, the puzzle element. That is what interested me in the technology element in learning. It wasn’t enough to use technology in education. I wanted to be able to build, replicate, and share educational content, whether it’s on a small scale or a grand scale.
